MEL for reindeer By Pascal on Tuesday, Dec 27th 2016 13:00Z Hi, interesting news article! Didn't know santaclaus is that modern, iPads etc.
Just one question.. is it possible to MEL a reindeer in case of a failure? I've been battling with this and even called our Lmc, but they couldn't answer my question. I can imagine it's not allowed to MEL it, since it's a part of the power plant. Please let me know! BR, B1 engineer of the Santa Claus sled P145: FI.145.360 Just the facts By Roger on Tuesday, Dec 27th 2016 11:00Z Great reporting. Just the facts. No speculation or wild opinion. Emergency landing at Berlin-Tempelhof Airport By Matthias Winkler on Sunday, Dec 25th 2016 22:30Z Due to strong wind blows, the DFS in the evening of Dec 24th reached an emergency landing of a manned flying object with a course towards the North Pole.
The DFS, in consultation with the Berlin fire brigade, decided for an emergency landing on the former Zentralflughafen. Several units of professional and volunteer fire brigades went out to illuminate the former runway in Berlin-Tempelhof and stand ready for rescue and fire protection measures. An airport fire truck was also alerted to make a foam carpet, because the's no snow this Christmas Eve. The flight object, a big red sled, could be safely steered to the ground, whose captain gave himself as Santa Claus. Fire men provide the reindeer with water and feed. In addition, a veterinarian of the veterinary clinic of the Freie Universität Berlin examines the animals for their flightability. Later Santa Claus get's airborne again. Here's to another year of factual reporting and hopefully the only red reports will be about rudolf the red nosed reindeer.. Servus and cheers mate..! :-) Santa Air By Grubbie on Sunday, Dec 25th 2016 07:44Z Santa, a thousand years of safe and accident free flying. His safety record is so good and a lack of any incidents whatsoever, the authorities are beginning to wonder if he even exists.
Merry x-mas with one correction By Sestoelemento on Sunday, Dec 25th 2016 07:38Z Merry Christmas and thank you Simon for the great work during 2016! In the spirit of accuracy, which in this site to put it mildly is on extraordinary level, I have to wonder what Santa was doing in the North Pole? Surely that was not his departure airfield? As all know the only REAL Santa lives in Finland where he took off from Rovaniemi as he has done so many years before, in front of international press. However maybe this was unscheduled stop to relieve pressure in Santa's bladder, he is in the end an elderly man...?

Found out this website on January this year, though I seldom comment, I always refer to AvHerald for any aviation incidents since, for reliable news reporting and "informed" discussions in the comments.. Hope all of you will have a great year ahead. Hail AvH, Hail Simon! ^^ Edward from Malaysia Santa's sleigh By Madtaffy on Sunday, Dec 25th 2016 05:37Z Sounds like the Elf Marshalls were a little too on the ball tonight!!! I'm sure he can still find his way by dead reckoning if he has to.
Thank you for all your amazing work in 2016, Simon. Although we all hope that 2017 is event free, we know you'll inform us of every important aviation event in your own detailed and accurate way.
